At the beginning of October 2014 one of our contract manager's was mobilised by BP to supervise and train Korean workers in the use and installation of Durastic floor screeds, epoxy resins and various floor finishes to topside modules.
Using Durastic Lightweight Screed and Durastic Decorflake System in the galley and dry store area as well as, all wet areas and dirty areas such as the toilet, locker rooms and wash room areas.
Also various floor finishes such as Amtico floor tiles, Noraplan Rubber, Ege Carpets of various designs were fitted .
Over several months our manager trained around 15-20 men in how to mix and install Durastic materials as well as installing floor finishes.
Amtico tiles were laid mainly in the public areas such as the dining room, TV lounges, games room, internet café and heli-lounge. Noraplan rubber is in areas such as the office spaces, laboratories, corridors, hospital area and main staircase up to and including level 7. Ege carpets have been installed in all the lounges on level 2 as well as the cabins and corridors on levels 3-4.
