In February 2015 we were awarded a matting replacement project for various sites belonging to the University of Liverpool. The joint venture with Integral was to be completed in the summer term of this year covering approximately 800m² of matting.
The University of Liverpool employed a consultant surveyor to survey numerous buildings following complaints regarding slip hazards to various entrance areas. After choosing Gradus as their preferred supplier, Esplanade 6000 Closed Construction Matting was chosen as the primary matting with Boulevard 6000 Matting as the secondary barrier matting.
Gradus alluminium trims were used for the matwell framing and to edges of the secondary barrier matting. The forming of the matwells to many of the area's included cutting out various sub-floors, including stone and paving slabs to depths of up to 100mm.
Regardless of the differing site conditions all works were carried out and completed within a two day timescale, helped by the rapid curing screeds.
