When carrying out new build or refurbishment works on board vessels we would urge clients to consider the benefits of using Durastic screeds over the commonly used water mixed products.  These products are favoured by many outfitting contractors due to the easier laying method and rapid drying time.  However, these products have a tendency to break down or crack resulting quite often in the failure of the screed, and therefore losing a perfectly serviceable top covering before it is due for replacement.

The benefits of initially using Durastic screeds will become apparent during future maintenance periods, with the deck screed needing minimal preparation prior to laying new finishes.
