University Of Sunderland - Murray Library
As part of a major refurbishment of the primary university library within the “Murray” building, we were brought on board by the client to compliment the works being carried out by incorporating various types of floor finishes.
Internet Café Bistro And Kitchen
Following the installation of a new timber floor to this extension we supplied and installed 120m² of Wincanders Wood Planking. We also installed 80m² of Altro D25 safety flooring to the kitchen, prep area and counter servery. Altro D25 was chosen for these areas as this material offers long term durability, excellent slip resistance and has a surface bacteriostat incorporated, which is specifically designed for food preparation areas.
Entrance And Circulation Corridor
100m² of Marmoleum “Real” was chosen to be installed into this high foot traffic area, as it offers excellent wear characteristics and appearance retention in areas of heavy traffic.
Main Library And Reception / Foyer
To make this a warm environment for students there were two different types of floor covering installed incorporating a feature design within the reception area. Fitted to the main library, back of the reception desk and stairs, over 1800m² of Heuga carpet tiles were laid as to specification. In front of the reception desk, a 10m diameter circle was laid in two vibrant colours to match the overall colour scheme of the building and 150m² of Sarlon Tech Canyon cushioned sheet vinyl was laid in the foyer area. It was also laid up to and in front of the reception desk as part of the design feature with the two colour circles.
